The Truth About Modern Motherhood (That Nobody Talks About)

You love your kids fiercely. But somewhere between school pickup, work deadlines, grocery runs, bedtime battles, and making sure everyone else is okay—you completely disappeared.

Sound familiar?

  • You're exhausted but can't sleep because your mind won't stop
  • You snap at your kids, then feel crushing guilt
  • You've said "I'm fine" so many times you almost believe it
  • You fantasize about one day with nothing on the calendar
  • You're doing "all the things" but feel like you're failing at everything

Here's the truth: This isn't personal failure. This is what happens when you're carrying an impossible load with no support.

The harder truth: It doesn't get better on its own. Without intervention, the overwhelm only deepens—affecting your mental health, relationships, and ability to show up as the mom you want to be.

But there is another way.

Women Rising: Therapy for the Mom You Are, Not the One You "Should" Be

Women Rising is a 6-week therapy group led by Tamima Aman, LPC, at Greater Houston Counseling Services' Richmond location. This isn't a parenting class or surface-level self-care workshop. This is real therapy, in community with other women who get it, where you can finally say the quiet things out loud without judgment.

Starting March 5, you'll meet weekly with a small group of women—working moms, stay-at-home moms, single moms, stepmoms, who are done pretending everything is fine and ready to build actual emotional balance, sustainable boundaries, and genuine support.
