at Greater Houston Counseling Services
We're not like other mental health practices!

We don’t settle for “how it’s always been done.”
If you’re the kind of person who questions the status quo, who’s always learning, growing, and pushing for better, you’ll fit right in here. For over a decade, we’ve been a leading mental health agency in the Greater Houston area. But we’re not resting on our reputation. We’re building something that matters: a workplace where your voice counts, your work has purpose, and your growth is part of the mission.
If you're looking for more than just a job—if you're looking to make an impact—we’d love to meet you.
Our team is intentionally built on real diversity of backgrounds, identities, perspectives, and lived experiences. Because we know that to truly serve a community as vibrant and multifaceted as Houston, we need therapists who reflect that richness.
We’re proud to build a team of exceptional clinicians who bring their full selves to the work. Here, your uniqueness isn’t just welcomed—it’s essential.

Reasons You'll 💗 Working Here

We are Fair
You might not like our policies, but they are fair, equitable and are created for the greater good of the team.

We're Community Centered
Unless you're hiding under a rock, you will see us around town serving our community. Make sure you're up for that before you apply.

We Care about YOU!
Seriously, though, we really care about you. We will celebrate your first day, your losses, your triumphs, we’re in this thing with you!
WE’RE A TEAM
We want people who are excited to participate in our shenanigans. We love being bold, hanging out together, visiting the community mental health fairs and talking about the awesome team we’ve built. We’re about setting the bar high, both for ourselves and for other mental health agencies throughout the state. We believe that when we do this, everyone wins. We don't settle, we push to grow, and our clients and communities are better served. WIN-WIN.
WE’RE INSPIRATIONAL
We will not tolerate any negativity. PERIOD. Drama breeds negativity and we will not allow that in our company. We've worked hard to build something that fosters support among our Team, and we will not sacrifice that for any new person. We believe that your work environment should be fun, challenging, and rewarding. We only want people with positive attitudes who are ready to inspire their co-workers, their clients, and their communities. After all, that’s what we are here to do!
WE’RE ALL ABOUT TRANSPARENCY
We want good humans who do what they say they're going to do, because we will! We pride ourselves in being top-tier helping professionals. We ONLY extend employment offers to professionals who are ready to commit to an agency that cares about them and the communities we serve.

WE’RE ABOUT TAKING CARE OF OUR PEOPLE
Okay, so we aren't the highest paying mental health agency (although we're always looking to get closer), but we're not the lowest paying either. We offer our Team a fair rate and some sound tax liability and in exchange for that a ton of support and an awesome place to work and grow.

I was drawn to GHCS because of the joyful and diverse range of therapists working here. From the hiring interview, I immediately felt welcomed. Christina and her team create a safe environment that encourages both professional and personal growth.
The almost two years I have been working at GHCS have given me exposure to a wide range of client disorders and life experiences that have made me grow as a psychotherapist.
I have delved deeply into acute and complex trauma; I learned to work with cognitively declining clients, chronically depressed clients, as well as marital problems and parenting challenges. Swimming in all these different waters has given me a lot of experiences that have increased my confidence as a psychotherapist.
~Associate Level Therapist, 2 years tenure
I chose to work at GHCS because it is more than just a practice; it is a supportive and empowering community that fosters both personal and professional growth. From the moment I joined, I felt valued, encouraged, and surrounded by colleagues who genuinely care about the well-being of both clinicians and clients.
This environment has allowed me to develop as both a counselor and a supervisor, strengthening my leadership skills and deepening my understanding of mentorship. I have gained invaluable experience in leadership, clinical oversight, and helping others navigate the complexities of mental health care with confidence and compassion. Seeing the growth of those I supervise is deeply fulfilling, and it reminds me why I chose this path in the first place.
The GHCS founder and leadership team have been a profound inspiration, not only in my professional growth but also personally as a woman. Their dedication and vision in creating a safe, empowering space for clinicians and clients have demonstrated the strength of resilience, the value of meaningful connections, and the impact of uplifting others.

Working at GHCS isn’t for everyone—and we’re okay with that.

We hold a high standard because our clients deserve high-quality care. That means we expect our therapists to be grounded in evidence-based practices and committed to helping clients make real progress. If you’re ever unsure or need support, we’re here for that—but we expect open communication so we can help you grow.
We also believe structure supports success. Our office policies are in place for a reason—to keep things running smoothly and create a work environment where everyone can thrive.
And yes, documentation matters. Clear, precise records aren’t just about compliance—they’re about ethics, continuity of care, and showing up for our clients in the best way possible. That’s why we’re all here.
If that kind of professionalism and purpose speaks to you, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
I chose GHCS 8yrs ago because it was a small practice that aligned with my work ethic and values, I stayed because of the relationships with colleagues that I grew, the support I received, and because the practice grew into a place that offers diversity and understanding in its care to the people and community we serve.
~Clinical Therapist, 8 years tenure, started as an Associate Therapist
Over the years, what’s kept me in GHCS is the incredible support, strong leadership, and the genuine sense of belonging. I’ve had the privilege of working with great coworkers who’ve become close friends. GHCS has truly been a place where I’ve felt valued, supported, and connected.
