Helping Make Your First Steps at GHCS a Little Easier
Reaching out for counseling can come with a lot of questions. Who should I schedule with? What happens next? Am I even calling the right place? As a Client Care Specialist at our Spring office, Frida Ruiz is one of the friendly people helping clients and families navigate those first steps and feel supported along the way.
Frida believes that how people are treated matters—especially when they're reaching out during a time when they may already feel overwhelmed or uncertain. She brings warmth, patience, and a genuine interest in people to her role at Greater Houston Counseling Services.
A Passion for People and Mental Health
Frida earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of St. Thomas and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Her interest in mental health comes from a passion for building meaningful relationships and showing up for people when it matters. She believes strongly in the power of community and the difference that feeling supported and connected can make in someone's life.
That perspective fits naturally into her work at GHCS, where every phone call, question, and interaction is an opportunity to make accessing mental health care feel a little less complicated and a lot more human.
Supporting Our Spring Clients
As part of the GHCS Spring Client Care team, Frida helps support the client experience and works alongside our clinical and administrative teams to help individuals and families connect with the services they need.
For Frida, client care isn't simply about completing administrative tasks. It's about remembering that there is a real person on the other side of every interaction and making sure they feel welcomed, respected, and cared for from the beginning.
Outside of GHCS
When Frida isn't working or studying, she's usually spending time with family and friends, watching a good movie, reading, or searching for her next favorite coffee shop.
Those everyday connections are also part of what drew her to this work. Whether with the people closest to her or the clients she meets at GHCS, Frida values community, meaningful relationships, and simply being present when it counts.
